letter to a friend.

Dear Marcel,

In art class I have painted a self portrait. It was very nice, we had to paint in the style of Van Gogh. I used the colours black, red and yellow. I like the way the way they can be used together. That why I used those colours. The brush strokes I used because I wanted to make it a bit mysterious and unorganised.

In your painting you had to try to show who you were and what kind of person you were. In the background you can see that the brushes are a bit unorganized, this is because I’m also a bit unorganized. But I also wanted to make it a bit of a mysterious painting but in fact I’m not afraid to tell something about myself so this is a bit adversative.  My mouth is smiling because most off the time I’m a happy person. My eyes are also wide open because I want to learn new things. That is why I made the painting like this.

This is my drawing, off course you can also see how I look, I have orange hear and I have a kind of brown eyes. The darker spot is when I tried to create a shadow on my face. I made my skin colour again but made it a bit darker, however, this bit turned out to be al lot so in the end it became almost like half of a beard and a moustache.  My head is also a bit to small compared to my body.  So when I look at it now I’m pleased with what I made and it was also fun to do.

Van Gogh assigment!

Here I am again. This time we had to ''remake'' a painting of the great painter Van Gogh. Of course we could not make it as nice as the one of van Gogh but we could always try! I have chosen for a painting of  his called ''willows at sunset''. In my opinion this is the best painting van Gogh ever made! Here is my version of it:

our own sign.

hello, it has been a while since I posted something. This is because my schoolyear is almost over and then al lot of teachers need some marks so I'm very busy and I post some things now.

In this assigment we had to create our own sign. Something everybody would regonise. I chose to make a light house because of my hair. You had to come up with some Idea's and develop them into your sign. The idea's and how I developed my sign are still at school so I will post them later. Our teacher liked my way of working but the sign not so much but she still gave me an 7.5! this was way more than I expected so I'm very happy. This is what it became:

Assignment about van Gogh

In class we had to ’’copy’’ a drawing of Van Gogh. I have chosen for this one because I like the happy, yellow colours that were used in the painting.

General.
Off course my painting is made my van Gogh, it is called: ’’willows at sunset’’. It was made in 1888 two years before he died. Van Gogh was one of the greatest painters that lived in the 19th century. He was born on 30 march 1853 and died at 29 July 1890. He only lived for 37 years, this was because he probably shot himself and died from the wound. He made many paintings but he was not popular when he was alive. People started liking his paintings when he died.

The painting.
This is a picture of the original painting:
If you look at you can’t look around the 3 trees in the centre of the painting. There a bit blue/brown coloured. Before it you see a kind grass which probably had this colour because of the sun and also because it was made in Autumn. In the back there is a light blue river were some more trees are standing at the bank of the river. In the back of the painting there is a yellow sun which turns most of the painting in a yellow coloured scene. In the front there is a small green strip. It’s like the title says: ’’willows at sunset’’. It is really a sunset scene.

Elements and principles.
Off course van Gogh used paint to make this painting, it was oil paint. The painting was made on cloth. He used a realistic way of painting because it is realistic, but he also painted a bit abstract. He used aerial perspective because there are now lines leading to a certain point in the painting, however in the sky there is linear perspective because all the lines lead to the sun! There is not really a move direction. Everything is quiet and the trees are straight as well as the reed. It’s just a place where nothing happens.

my opinion about the painting.
I think this is a nice painting, but what is so good about it? it is quiet, there is a beautiful sunset and it is nature without people creating it. But there are also some things that are not so good about this painting, for example that the is not painted very clear (my personal view). I think van Gogh did a great job painting this, the minus points of it are all just a matter of opinions. If I were rich, I would buy it. I think that I’m not the only one that likes this painting, I asked in class and many people liked it. so if you summarise this and you had to give him a mark for it I would give him a 8. Because I like it together with many people and there are two ways of painting in the painting.

Theater verslag

Theater verslag van “Amar’’

Verslag over ‘’Amar’’

Rosewindow

ENGLAND!!!!!!!

WE WENT TO ENGLAND!!!!!!!!
it was very nice and we did awesome things, for art we had to make a report about it.
thats all I'm going to say, just read the report!!!!!!

Visit to Canterbury

Before the visit:
Tomorrow we leave on a trip to Canterbury, something everybody likes. I think we are going to see a few very nice historical things I will only see once in my live, so I hope it will be much fun and also learn a bit. I think the cathedral will be very nice because I have never seen something like that before. But I think that the museum won’t be so nice because I just want to do something and don’t look all the time. but with the cathedral and fun at the youth hostel that is only a very small negative thing! From the cathedral I don’t know a lot so I hope I’m going to learn a lot of it in England! But I know that the cathedral is build in gothic style, I style I think is one of the best styles of churches. It has a lot of nice decorations and a big tower, almost everything is big. They are nice stain glass windows that tell a story are a nice drawing.

After the visit:
Wow! Its Sunday now and I’m still a bit tired of our trip to England. It were 3 very nice days over there. The journey was really what I expected it to be. The cathedral was very nice, it was totally what I expected from it. I think this because there are a lot of thing that really impress you like big stain glass windows and golden statues. The nicest part was at the back were at one point you could see until the entrance and see how high and long it was. But the museums weren’t half as cool as the cathedral. The Canterbury tales museum was the best, because the little stories were fun. But the two other museums weren’t nice. Because we had to spend a long time in it and if you didn’t like it it was a bit too long. However it was very well organised and if they asked me again I would go without doubting one minute! At the very end in Terneuzen my parents were late because they didn’t received my text message, I want to apology again to Miss Cleijne for the long waiting for my parents.

Here are some pictures of our journey:
I have chosen this one          This is a picture of the         And last but not least a
Because this is a thanks to   beautiful Canterbury           picture of the 2 persons
People on earth and not to cathedral.                               of Darnell and me were we
God or Jesus but to people                                                   slept during our visit.
That gave their life and I
That’s important too.
